Good Morning & Happy Monday!

Today's worksheet involves practice with comparatives. I hope to post a similar worksheet on superlatives next week. You'll need to download the worksheet to view it and use it.

If there's anything that you think should be added, please feel free to let me know. Any feedback or suggestions you may have are always appreciated!

Thank you for visiting and have a great week!

COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES

Comparative adjectives describe the difference between two things.

·        For adjectives with one syllable, use adjective + er. The word "than" often follows comparative adjectives.
·        If an adjective ends in one vowel and one consonant, double the consonant, as in big --> bigger
·        If the adjective ends in –e, just add –r.
·        For most adjectives with two or more syllables, use more +adjective.
·        For two-syllable adjectives that end in –le, add –r.
·        For two-syllable adjectives that end in –y, change the –y to I and add-er.

Complete each sentence below with the correct comparative form. Use your own opinions.

1.      Lasagna is more delicious (delicious) than pizza.
2.      …………………  is …………………………… (interesting) than football.
3.      …………………  is …………………………… (beautiful) than winter.
4.      …………………  is …………………………… (famous) than Tom Hanks.
